The PRSG mission is to promote cultural vitality and artistic diversity necessary for a healthy society in the following ways:
  • Increasing public awareness of sculpture through public and private sculpture exhibits, education, and resource & outreach programs;
  • Encouraging artistic diversity and excellence by providing a network in which artists meet, show their work, exchange their ideas, and address issues of common concern;
  • Providing collective opportunities and resources for members;
  • Fostering development of all sculptors.

    THE RUTH BANCROFT GARDEN SHOW

    This year the Bancroft Sculpture Show will showcase the work of PRSG member David Mudgett as the featured artist. The show is sponsored by The Ruth Bancroft Garden and by Walnut Creek’s Artscape Gallery and Sculpture Garden. A portion of the proceeds goes to the preservation of this nationally acclaimed garden.
    The other Pac Rim members who are in this year’s show include, Carol Wedemeyer, Kim Webster, Charles H. Stinson, Betty Rasicot Pillsbury, John Oldani, Kristin Lindseth Rivera, Kate Ruddle, Jiajun Lu, Philip Lange, Michelle Gregor, Rebecca Fox, Christopher Dworin, Kris Borchardt, Tim Beck, Ted Bayer, and Mary Bayer.
    The three-acre garden provides plenty of space and a warm backdrop in which to show both large and smaller work. The Garden is located at 1500 Bancroft Road, just north of Ygnacio Valley Road, in Walnut Creek. Directions can be found at www.ruthbancroftgarden.org or by calling the garden at (925) 944-9352.
    A fundraising preview reception to meet the sculptors will be held on Friday, June 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It usually is a sold-out event with tickets costing $50 per person. Participants and one guest are not charged. General public viewing of the show is Saturday, June 16, and Sunday, June 17, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is a $10 garden admission fee. Children under 12 are free.
